Two back-to-back mild earthquakes shake Ladakh

Srinagar, Aug 13 (UNI) Two back-to-back earthquakes struck the Ladakh region on Thursday morning, triggering mild tremors across several parts of Kashmir and Ladakh, officials said.
According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the first earthquake, measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale, struck at 6:05 am. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometres, with its epicentre located at 36.881 degrees N latitude and 74.402 degrees E longitude in the Leh-Ladakh region.
Nearly four hours later, another earthquake measuring 4.3 struck the region at 9:54 am. The second quake also originated at a depth of 10 kilometres, with its epicentre recorded at 36.765 degrees N latitude and 75.326 degrees E longitude, according to the NCS.
The twin earthquakes were felt in several parts of Kashmir and Ladakh.
There were no immediate reports of any casualties or damage to property.
